WE'RE HERE!!!!!

After a LONG day of traveling, we finally made it! And we only lost 1 bag! We got here last night around midnight and were greeted by Marvin, a man from First Christian Church, and TJ, our group leader for the week for Disciples Disaster Recovery. The boys went across the street to the Methodist church while the girls stayed here and set up camp. Right now, we're getting ready for church then heading out for a tour of the devastated areas and then down to the French Quarter! Talk to y'all later!

Thanks to all who came yesterday morning for the great send off from DR! -- A extra hug and thanks to Heidi for the thoughtful, caring and inspirational treat bags and notes!!  Those are the things that will energize us and carry us through our challenges this week.

Whose bag did you lose? (Brian wants to know). No worries! I'm sure you all covered for the poor soul who lost their bag. We're so glad you all made it safely. Keep making us proud!!

Hey Melissa! I noticed Michelle sent her mom a message letting her know how she's doing. Remember, "write every night or I'm on a flight"! I love you all! (But Melissa's my favorite).

We heard in church this morning about your being recognized by the captains of your flights (and being blessed by all those southerners when getting off the plane!) AND about seeing fireworks from above! I wonder what THAT looked like?! Sleep well tonight... big day tomorrow. P.S. I'm guessing Cody's may have been the lost bag!

Hi Everyone! Sybil, Richard and Cy are having some blog issues, but asked me to pass along how glad they are that you've arrived safe and sound and can't wait to hear your stories. Thinking about you all the time, have a great week.

Hi to all from Liza's cousins in Rhode Island--although you are from DEEP RIVER, that MISSISSIPPI RIVER is a bit larger, no?! Good luck down there and thank you for all your efforts. The people of New Orleans are sure lucky to have groups like you coming down to help and showing them that their problems are not forgotten. Thank you! love the Littles in Rhode Island
