We are a group of 27 teens and chaperones from the Deep River Congregational Church in Deep River, Connecticut. We are going down to New Orleans, Louisiana to help rebuild homes that were devastated during Hurricane Katrina. We have worked very hard to prepare for the trip and we can't wait to see what kind of work God has for us! We hope we can make a difference in the lives of victims who are still suffering 4 years after the hurricane.
You are all taking part in history... work with love.
ReplyDeleteBy now you should almost be in New Orleans. We're thinking about you--already posted your picture in the yellow shirts on the church web site! So keep us posted on what's happening down there in the land of jambalaya and crawdads, cajun music and newallins jazz! Love you all!
ReplyDeleteGo Team DRCC!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of each of you! Can't wait to hear your stories, remember, you are baptised...
ReplyDeleteGlad that you all are there and starting this new journey.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear all about it!
Hi Mom, we are here and safe. We are really tired, but are going to church soon! I am sleeping near Greta, Abby, Janna, Kate, and Melissa. It has been a good few hours, although it is really hot here.
ReplyDeleteI love you and I miss you
Michelle :)
